Our Vision for Pattrn

When we started designing Pattrn, we had one main goal: make habit and goal tracking simple, powerful, and easy to use. Many self-improvement apps are packed with too many features, which can make tracking progress feel like work instead of a natural part of life. We wanted to keep things simple while still bringing something fresh and useful.

To do this, we used design ideas people are already familiar with, like those from Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.

This made the app feel natural to use while still being smart and helpful. Users can quickly track their habits or explore deeper insights if they want. Every part of our design was made to help people build better habits without any extra hassle.

Crafting the Branding

From the start, we wanted the branding to show what habit-building is all about—repeating actions, making progress, and seeing results. That’s how we came up with the name Pattrn, which stands for recognizing and improving personal habits.

The branding had to feel modern and personal while also looking smart and clean.

The logo represents progress and continuity, reminding users that growth happens step by step. We chose a dark theme to match today’s self-improvement trends and to make the app feel premium and focused.

The mostly black-and-white color scheme keeps things simple, while glowing colors highlight progress and key actions.

Balancing a Minimalist UI

We wanted the app to feel light and easy to use, while still being powerful. Instead of filling the screen with lots of buttons and options, we focused on keeping things clear and simple, with extra details only when needed.

Despite a minimalist UI, we used a lot of color in modals, stats and glows to highlight key actions and give a data-driven feeling.

We also created a special look for Pattrn’s AI insights. This makes AI-powered suggestions easy to spot, so users know right away when they’re getting personalized insights.

These small details help make the app feel consistent and unique everywhere it appears.

Creating the App Screens

Every screen in Pattrn was designed to work together, from tracking habits to checking AI insights. We wanted users to be able to move smoothly through Habits, Goals, Insights, Achievements, and Profile screens.

- Habit and Goal Tracking: Adding and updating habits is super easy, with no extra steps.

- AI-Powered Insights: We show data in a way that’s visual and easy to understand, rather than just numbers.

- Achievements and Progress: Users get a clear sense of progress through well-designed visuals that keep them motivated.

By keeping the same simple and clear design style across all screens, we made sure users can track their habits with zero confusion.

The goal is to make it stupidly simple to use, and we believe we made nice progress in this front.

Design Beyond the App

A great product isn’t just about the app—it’s also about how it looks everywhere else.

That’s why we expanded Pattrn’s design into its website, marketing materials, and overall online presence.

The website matches the app’s clean and modern feel, using the same dark theme and glowing highlights. The visuals and messages are made to reinforhe Pattrn’s focus on habit-building and self-improvement, so everything feels connected, keeping the branding, again, consistent.

Final Thoughts

Here we believe good design should be clear, useful, and engaging.

With Pattrn, we tried to make something that feels easy to use but is full of smart features, helping people track their habits without feeling overwhelmed – and from user feedback, we believe we were able to achieve it.

By using familiar ideas, strong branding, and a simple user experience, we created a product that isn’t just beautiful—it actually helps people make real progress, in this case, in their goals and habits.
